Oregon Coast Aquarium is a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. You will get to walk through breathtaking underwater tunnels, where sharks glide overhead and fish of every color dart past. Say hello to the mischievous sea otters – they’re basically the ocean’s furry comedians. And keep an eye out for the giant Pacific octopus, a creature so intelligent, it probably knows more about existentialism than your college professor!
Chinook Winds Casino, our dining destination, offers fantastic dining options to satisfy every craving, from casual pub fare to a more refined meal with incredible ocean views. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, recount your kite-flying triumphs, and enjoy some well-deserved sustenance. Just try not to get too full – we still have more coastal wonders and delicious dairy ahead!
This is your chance to embrace the simple joy of flying a kite. Feel the wind tugging at the line, watch your colorful kite dance in the sky, and remember what it felt like to be kid with boundless energy. If you’ve never flown one, prepare for a surprisingly exhilarating experience.
If you’re a seasoned pro, prepare to show off your aerial artistry! Just try not to get your strings tangled with the seagulls – they have very strong opinions about airspace.
You’re welcome to bring your own magnificent flying contraption, or if inspiration strikes, there are fantastic kite shops nearby where you can acquire a brand-new aerial companion. Join us and we shall paint the Lincoln City sky with a kaleidoscope of color!
Cape Meares Lighthouse is perched dramatically on a bluff overlooking the vast Pacific, this isn’t just a lighthouse, it’s a testament to maritime history and offers some of the most stunning panoramic views on the coast. It’s actually Oregon’s shortest lighthouse, which just goes to show that good things come in small packages! You can walk right up to it, admire its historic lens, and feel the sea spray on your face.
At the Tillamook Creamery, you will get to see how their famous cheddar is made, from the fascinating vats to the giant cheese blocks. It’s an educational experience, but let’s be honest, the real draw here is the sampling of all their cheeses! Yes, free cheese!
And then, the ultimate temptation… the ice cream. With so many flavors, choosing just one is difficult, but not to worry, you can get a double-scoop and try two or a triple scoop and try three. I can let you in on my secret.. I always do taste 7 or 8 flavors before I decide on the one, which is always chocolate & peanut butter, but don’t tell the server I knew all along!
